Cozy Winter

Cozy Winter

Its almost Christmas so needless to say, ugly sweater parties are all the range. While I do agree, there are some Christmas sweaters that are too much, I happen to love the cozy, winter feeling of some current Christmas sweaters. Regardless of what some of my friends say, winter sweaters are classic, comfortable, and cute.

J.Crew also has some adorable sweaters that I am in LOVE with. This would be perfect for a relaxing, family filled Christmas gathering where dressing up isn't mandatory. Perfect with dark jeans and riding boots. I saw this sweater at Vineyard Vines yesterday and nearly died, it is so perfect. Target has a great selection of headbands, like this one are not as in-your-face as some of the sweaters but still have the perfect amount of winter spirit,

Sparkle in 2012

I'm anticipating bringing in the New Year with understated sparkle.
Since I will be celebrating at my boyfriends house and
I anticipate cold New England weather, even if we haven't seen it yet,
I'm planning to wear dark skinny jeans accented
by colorful flats and a glittery top. I've seen a variety of takes on sparkles at all stores,
ranging from Forever 21 to The Gap, all of which I love.
However I am especially enamored with this AEO tank top.
Paired with a leather jacket if its cold, its easy and playful if the heat is turned up.

#Primary2012

I'm so excited to say that I will be interning for ABC News for a week and a half during the New Hampshire primary this January! My biggest concern at the moment is footwear. Because I'll be spending so much time on my feet running around campus and Manchester I need to wear shoes that won't leave my feet sore and blistering at the end of each day. That means NO heels, despite the fact that I have a steadily growing collection of 5 in or high business appropriate heels they will not be used. Especially if its snowing, and let's face it, this is New Hampshire, the December weather has been anything but normal.

#lifegaurdpress

Lifeguard Press is perfect for finding stocking stuffers for Christmas, cute birthday or hostess gifts, or just the perfectly patterned anything. My favorite thing is my Lilly Pulitzer agenda which I carry around like a maniac with every date, detail, and life event planned for the next year and a half. I've also been craving the Lilly Pulitzer wine glass set for some time.

#5Songs... Currently Getting Me Through Finals Week

Despite the fact that Christmas is only a few weeks away I still have yet to feel the Christmas cheer I felt last year. Although campus is decorated to the top with Christmas decor and I've felt a glimmer of spirit from the decorations at Macys, Walmart, and Target, for some reason I have yet to delve deep into my 130 plus Christmas songs. Instead I am still stuck in my usual country music. Here are 5 songs which have received the most play this finals week.
1. Toby Keith's Red Solo Cup
There are a lot of things I love about this song. First its fun. Second the music video is funner. And third it makes me not want to study at all (maybe thats why my studying habits have been less than ideal this semester?) Nonetheless, since downloading Toby's latest Cd "Clancy's Tavern" I have listened to this song on repeat.

2. Tim McGraw's Sing Me Home

There is little I love more than a good few hours listening to my McGraw collection and as I watch all my friends leave for home and I anxiously await the next few days before I get to go back to Massachusetts this song seems to capture every single emotion I'm feeling.

3. Toby Keith's The Taliban Song

While I realize, 2/3 of my songs are now TK, I recently re-discovered this tribute to American patriotism and I can't stop listening to it. It usually puts me in a better mood whenever I think how lucky I am to live in this country and my favorite line, "this is a patriotic love song" has now become my Facebook and Twitter about me.

4. Rascal Flatts's Things That Matter

When I get overwhelmed with work and everything else going on in my life, this song usually serves to put things in perspective. Its definitely the most played song on my iPod right now.

5. Eric Church's Keep On

I seriously have a deep obsession with Eric Church. I love blasting his music out my car window and one day if I ever own a truck it will be even the much better. This is one of my favorite Eric Church songs because its just...pretty awesome.

#matte...

What I want most for Christmas is matte nail-polish. I am so totally obsessed with the idea of colorful french nails. As someone who has never really loved the look of a classic french, when I stumbled upon this blog on pintrest I knew I wanted to try it with pink or blue. As it happens, it is actually really hard to find a matte top coat polish in stores. However, Essie sells a matte online that I have put on the top of my wish list for this Christmas.

#favoritethings....

On the top of my Christmas wish list and what I'm buying for all my friends? Smathers And Branson is a small business out of Maryland who specializes in needlepoint products. I've loved needlepoint since I was a little girl and learned to sew at my grandma's needlepoint classes. The first thing I finished, took five years, was a small pillow of sandals for my grandma's cape house. Check out Smathers and Branson for the cutest, preppiest, needlepoint holiday gifts. I've already told all my friends to buy from them this Christmas!

#currentlyobsessed...

Even though I'm finding it harder than usual to get into the Christmas spirit with finals right around the corner and my sleeping schedule less than ideal, there are a few things getting me through this next week. Of those, my most favorite waste-of-time procrastination tool is pintrest. I seriously think you give me two minutes of any moment and I will be on and surfing through the general topics. I love it. I downloaded the app on my iPhone and I just can't seem to get away.
